Printable Form 8889 Allegheny Pennsylvania: What You Should Know

Allegheny Family Screening (AFT). It is a comparative methodology report that compares the AFT with the prior version (AFT 2) before implementation of the new methodologies. To help us understand the differences between the methods used for identifying adults with developmental disabilities (DD) and adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), and between the older and younger DD and ID criteria, the following information highlights the findings from a study conducted in 2024 with a cohort of Pittsburgh-area adults with developmental disabilities and adults with intellectual disabilities. Adults with developmental disabilities were defined as individuals with a developmental disability with evidence of developmental delays, who had at least 2 documented clinically significant developmental delays, and who met the criterion for DD in either age group. In comparison with those of the same age range or above who did not have DD but met the criterion for ID, those with ID were more likely to be male, be unemployed, and have completed low levels of formal education (P < 0.005). Adults with intellectual disabilities, referred to as “ID/DD,” were defined as individuals who met both criteria for ID but had developmentally delayed mental functions equivalent to individuals with DD with moderate mental difficulties. Adults with ID were less likely to meet the criterion, be male, have a high school educated background, and be unemployed than adults with DD. Individuals who met both criteria for the same AD were included in the group regardless of whether the AD happened to be a DD or ID. Adults with intellectual disability lived in households receiving public assistance for an average of 3.6 years, for an adjusted prevalence relative to persons without mental retardation relative to the general population (0.02; P<0.05). They were also more likely to live in single-person households when compared to adults without ID (odds ratio [OR]=2.5; P<0.05).
